Boston, July 20th 1865 Mr Thos C Durant. Dear Sir Enclosed you have Columbian Bank check on National Merchants Bank N. York for Thirty Thousand Dollars. I will remit the balance on the second note in a day or two. Acknowledge receipt. Yours Truly Oakes Ames N.B. I sent you statement of the note of the 17th yesterday I remitted the balance nearly 8000$ which you get this morning. You will receipt for same by mail
