7 P.M. Saturday Apr 16 1898 200 girls found their way to the Industrial school to day It is no small task to hold so many in check some of them come three miles. They are from every part of the city and many of them from the poorest homes. as I looked at them this afternoon I said what chance have they in the race of life and especesally the boys, who will undertake to turn their feet from the paths of sin and folly into the paths of piety It pains my heart to see young men and boys growing up without any thought of God, of their own souls or of eternity Their every thought seems to be set on the excitements of pleasure and amusment
