he is; therefore knowing you to have known poor dear Mamma (who has now been dead seven years) I shall deem it a great favour if you will try to ascertain for us if he is still in New York and if so to let him know his sisters (Bessie and Charlotte) are living and would like to hear from him, but will you kindly tell him that his eldest sister Charlotte Penrose is now married and her name Mrs "Thorpe" becaus most likely he would remember her better than myself, I being very young when he left.
