Bessie Lydia Penrose January 29th 1873 Duff," who said he knew you, therefore I have taken the liberty of writing you this letter, feeling sure you will do all in your power to find my dear brother if he is in "New York," which I feel almost sure of, my Sister having heard some little time ago he was there as a Solicitor, but how far this is correct I cannot say. I do not know your proper address, but General Duff said this would be sure to reach you, as you are so well known in New York. We are extremely sorry to give you such a long story, but indeed we shall feel deeply indebted to you if you will let us now all you can - I am dear Sir Yours sincerely Bessie Lydia Penrose January 29th
