Manhattan Club, New York, Dec. 12, 1873. Sir: In compliance with the request voted by the members of the Manhattan Club, at their special meeting, held Dec. 11th, and in the exercise of their authority under the Constitution ({6, Article "Management") the Managing Committee have this day unanimously voted to assess each member of the Club Fifty Dollars, the same to be due and payable on or before Dec. 31, 1873. Respectfully yours, Manton Marble, Secretary. P.S.--Please make checks payable to the order of Wm. Butler Duncan, Treasurer, and enclose them to him at his office, 9 Nassau Street.
