AMERICAN BUREAU OF MINES No. 306. This is to Certify that the samples of mineral of the Union Pacific Railroad averaged on ________, by ___________ marked as below, and submitted for examination, June 17th 1867, by Dr Thomas C. Durant contain neither gold, silver, copper, nor any other valuable ingredient. 1. "General Dodge Lode, surface", is a dark impure massive quartz. 2. "General Dodge Lode, 4 ft. from surface", white crystallized quartz, with traces of specular iron ore. 3. "General Dodge Lode, bottom of shaft," dark, chocolate-colored argillaceous rock. 4. "Union Lode, No. 1. 6 ft. from surface", a mass of quartz crystals. 5. "Union Lode, No. 2. 3 ft. from surface", a dark reddish-green, semi-decomposed trap rock. 6. "Arsenic", is carbonate of lime.
