1 Harris Emery's Committee Rooms Des Moines Iowa May 4-1920 The Semi-annual meeting of the Iowa League of Women Voters was called to order by Miss Dunlap. Minutes of the Executive meeting of Jan 7 to 12th were read and accepted. Report of the treasurer Mrs Koch was read and accepted. Miss Dunlap gave a short talk in which she presented the financial needs of the League of Women Voters for the coming year. The budget presented was composed of the following items. Money needed to carry on state work $2,500. " " for National League 1,000. " " " Len Shaw Memorial 5000. Adjourned for Luncheon. Business of the day was resumed by Miss Dunlap presenting again to a larger company the needs of the League for the coming year. Mrs Lovering of Humboldt gave a report of the Child Welfare Committee day as the National Convention held in Chicago in February. Mrs Rusts moved that the Iowa League of Women Voters endorse the Smith Towner Bill and send word to Hon. Towner of this action. Seconded. Carried. Mrs Evans moved that the meeting endorse three bills - The Gard Curtis Bill for regulating child labor in the District of Columbia. A bill appropriating $472.220 for the childrens bureau, and The principle of a bill for physical education about to be introduced into
