Sep 23. 1920 3 The official board of the League of Women Voters met at Harris Emery's in this morning of Sept 23. - 1920. Those present were Miss Dunlap, Dr. Harpee. Mrs Ruff of Sioux City - Mrs. Hammil F. Britt and Mrs. H.S. Van Alstine of Gilmore City, Mrs. Ruste of Charles City. Miss Dunlap called the meeting to order and gave a short review of the years work and explained the absence of Miss Finkbine and Mrs. Koch. Miss Finkbine. away with her mother who was ill and Mrs. Koch with a young son in a hospital. Report of meeting of May 4 was read and accepted. Mrs. Ruste gave her report as chairman of child welfare committee. She showed the need of a childrens code in Iowa and says the methods of birth and death registration in Iowa is worthless. adjourned. The First Annual Meeting of the League of Women met on September 23 - 1920 at Harris Emery's Auditorium. Miss Dunlap called the meeting to order. Mrs. [Ja?] Edworthy opened the session with prayer. A short address by Miss Dunlap reviewed the years work which con- sisted largely of arranging for citizenship schools over the state Miss Ames and Miss Curtiss were busy putting on these schools for a short time late in the winter but the chief credit for good work done in citizenship schools goes to Mrs. Max Mayer of Iowa City who has been indefatigable in her journeys up and down the state and who has given thousands of women better ideals of citizenship and practical information as to
