10 Mrs. Clarence [illegible] of Clear Lake will represent will represent Mrs. Ruste as chair man of Child Welfare -- Mrs. Oscar Ruff of Sioux City will be chairman of Election Laws and Mrs. Koch of Cedar Rapids goes as State delegate Nat. American Womens Suffrage Association. Mrs. H.S. Van Alstine will represent Mrs. Brown as State Chairman. Dr. Kate Harpel gave a short talk in which she mentioned the fast that in recent court proceedings in Boone The presiding Judge commended a woman foreman of the Jury saying she made the best foreman on the Jury Boone County had furnished in many years. Mrs. Devitt made her reports on Women in Industry and finds the net gain in 1921 legis- lation for women very disappointing. She gave in some detail the story of the winters work with experience the chief profits. Mrs. Mayer offers the following motion --- Resolved that the League of Women Voters in executive session express appreciations and approval of the fine work by Mrs. Devitt -- chairman of Women in Industry committee during the recent meeting of our Gen. Assembly and endorses her future effort. Seconded by Mrs. Passig. Carried. Mrs. Ida B. Wise Smith gave a talk in her observations of the 39th Genl Assembly and her conclusions tally with and coroberate Mrs. Devitt's views. a minimum of gain from a maximum of effort for good legislation concerning social welfare. Mrs. Hunter moved that a committee be appointed by the chair to investigate the legislatie record of the members of the 39th Gen'l assembly. That the committee be given power to act and that requisite financial support be accorded [illegible] Pres. to appoint. seconded by Mrs. Devitt - passed.
