4. Rheumatism Make a pint & half of Posset drink [illegible] w:th white Wine & Table Beer yn get three [dowls?] of Stone horse Dung warm from ye horse & stir in in yr Posset for two or three minutes afterwards strain it off & drink half at Night & half in ye morning, yr same must be repeated for nine days & if you please you may grate a little Nutmeg over it to take off ye smell & if possible keep in a breathing [illegible] all the time. 5. Stone Half an oz: of Gumquatum into a Pint of right French Brandy & let it lye in it 12 Hours & drink half a quartern in ye morning & at 4 in ye afternoon, It is a Stone cut small & put into ye Bottle 6. A Bath for a Woman in Travel Take Marrygold leaves & Flowers, Mercury, Mugwort, Mother Wort, Mallow a good handfull of each, boyl 'em in Milk, put it in a close Stool pan & let ye Patient sit over it. 7. To keep ye Fundament up Take 2 little handfulls of ye Inward Bark of Alder & put it into a quart of Spirit Water, let 'em stand 24 hours then boyl it till it comes to a pint, strain it & put ye bigness of a wallnut of Rork allom to ye Liquor, boyl yt up till it be like Syrrup then anoint ye Fundaments w:th it: let it be no hotter than new Milk w:n you anoint it then put up ye Fundament w:h ye end of a Candle, for yr will put it into its place without taking off ye Oyntmint.
