66. To Colour Hair Take the green Shells of Wallnuts, w:n full ripe & let'em stand in an earthen pot, till they are black & rotten, th:n put 'em in a Sauce pan & what Liquor is w:th 'em, put 3 quarts of fair water to a peck of the Shells & set it on the fire Let it boyl a good while, stir in some limes to keep it from burning, if you find it very thick, put more water to it & let it boyle, then strain the Liquor through a Sieve & boyl it half an hour more scum it & strain it through a fine sieve, it must be used thus, put a bit of Spung into a wooden dish or box & put to it as much of the water as will wet it let it stand 3 or 4 days before you use it, then squeeze the Spung but not too Dry w:n you have fixt your hair rub it over w:th the Spung let it Dry before you put in on your head cloaths or powder, you must not clean the spung nor Dish but allways keep em wet, it bring the hair to a good Colour 67. To Cure Fitts Quart of Brandy, an Egg, Shellfull of Wood Soot half an oz: of Asa Fetida bruise it & put it into the Brandy Shake it every Day for 9 Days, then you may use it Give it before the Fit comes to the Person half a spoon full to a Child 10 Drops it will keep 7 Years
