99. The Great Palsey Water Fill a gall:n Glafs w:th Lavender Flowers well pickt from The Stalks, pour on them good Spirit of wine or Brandy, stop it very close or cover it w:ith a Bladder, that no air comes to it let it steep 6 weeks let it stand warm then still it in a Limbeck w:ith its Cooler, then put into the water Sage Flowers Rosemary Flowers Betony Flowers of each half a handfull, of Burrage Buglofs, Cowslip, Lilly of the Valley Flowers of each 1 handfull steep all of these in Brandy as you get 'em in the Seasons, till you get em all them put to 'em Balm, Motherwort Barberry Spike Flowers, Leaves of Orange Trees & Flowers if you can get em of each 1 oz: cut all very small & put 'em in the Distilled wine steep 'em first 6 weeks as the other & still 'em all then put into the still'd water the Peels of Lemmon or Citron dry'd & piony seeds hull'd of each 6 Drachm's cinnamon Nutmeg mace Cardimums Cubibs yellow sauders of each half an oz of lign: Aloes 1 Drachm, make all these into powder & put 'em into the still'd liquor new & good half a p:d that must take out the stones & cut em small, cover the vefsel close w:th two Bladders Let it stand 6 weeks then strain it hard w:th a prefs & filter it then put to it prepared pearl & amber grease muske saffron of each half a [soruple?] Red Roses dry'd wet smalledge Red Sanders & Yellow of each 1 oz hang these in a Sarsnet bag in the water tye 'em up very well least any shov'd come out Its good for any weeknefs of spirits in Palseys or apoplexys or pains by colds & a good outward or inwardly apply'd w:n you take it inward drop it on Crums of Bread
