The Lady Helens Water 59 Take Rue, Salindine, Cardus, Dragon, Rosa, Solis, Mugwort, Balm, Pimpernell, Scabous, Bittony flowers and leaves, of each a good handfull, then take the roots of Piony, Ledory, Tormental, Anjellico, Elicompane, Liquorish, all clean Scrap'd, of each one Ounce, let the herbs be dryed In a cloth woll, but not washed, then Shread them all together, And Slice the roots thin, and mix with the herbs, and put to Them 2 Quarts of Cannary and 2 of White Wine, let them Steep together in an Earthen pott well glazed 2 days and 2 Nights, cover them close and Steep them Stirring twice a day, Still them of a cold Still, Sweeten it to your tast, with Double refin'd Sugar, mix it not too small._._._ Doc. Take a Gallon of Gaskin Wine, then take the Ginger, Cloves Aniseed, Gollingall, Cinamon, Camamile, Nutmeggs, [grain's?] and fennell seed, Carraway Seeds, of each a dram, wild Margerum, Sage, Mint, red Rose, Time, Pelletory of the Wall, Rosemary, [illegible herb?], of each one handfull, pound the Spices and Wring the herbs, put them altogether into halfe White Wine and half brandy, let it Stand 12 hours, Stirring it divers Times, distill them in a Lymbrick, Sweeten it with double refin'd Sugar Snails Water. Take 3 pints of Snails, which you must wash and bruise with a Pestle before you put them into your Still, with a pint of Earth Worms, 2 Gallons of Nettles with the roots, 6 handfulls of Wild Angelico, 4 of [Banneok?], [Osly?], 7, Agromy, Bittony, of Each 3 handfulls, Rue one handfull, Wormwood 2 handfulls, Sorrell 5 Ounces, Inward bark of barberries 3 or 4 Ounces, Tormentall, Aniolico, Elicompane, Piony, Ledory, all these Cleane Scrap'd, of each one Ounce, distill it in a Lymbrick One part Sack, the other White Wine or Brandy, Sweeten it With Loafe Sugar._._._._ Snail Water. Take brooklime, Femestary,, Suckery, and Plantin, of each 4 handfulls, a pint of Snails when their Shells are of a pint of Earth Worms, Slit half an Ounce of Dryed Lemmon peel 20 whites of eggs beat to a froth, Wash the Worms but not the Snaills, cut the herbs 3 or 4 times across, and bruise them a
