153 To Make Mouth Water. Take 3 Quarts of Water, and put two handfulls of Barley into then boile it, its reduced to two Quarts, then put into the liquor, one ounce of powder of Myrrh to Infuse in it 24 hours, and then strain it through a linnen Cloth, and when done Put it into a bottle, putting in in it 2 Ounces of Hony rosses, and so wash your mouth, as often as you think fit. To Make the Opiate. One Ounce of [sang?] drug A Quarter of an Ounce of Crabbs Eyes, in powder very fine A Quarter of Ditto of [tarfie?] A Quarter of a Dram of Corrill powder very fine Then put it all together, into an Ounce of hony Rosses to bring it Consistency of Opiate Therewith rub the tooth, once or twice a Week. An Approved Medicine for the Stone. Take a Gallon of New Milk draw from a red Cow, and Put there [lo?] one handfull of [Pellitory?] of the wall a Handfull of wild Thime a handfull of Pillipopole a handfull of Parsley and horse Radish Roots Slice Steep all these together one night, the next morning Distill the milk with the herbs, with a Moderate Fire, the best time for distilling this water is Towards the End of May. Use it in this Manner. Take of the water 6 Spoonfulls, of White wine 5 or 6 Spoonfulls, a little Sugar, and Some Slices of Nutmegg make It [luke] warm, and take it fasting, and fast after it 3 hours using Temperate exercise, take it two mornings Together, and the 2 Nights of Those days to bedward Every fortnight, at the full of the Moon, and the Decrease or oftener of need requires this medicine hath bin used by many to their great Comfort.
