For the Mange Mr. Hayward Of mercury sublimate 2 grams put into a Tea Cup of Boyling Water put it into a wine quart of spring water, wash ye part affected wth a spunge. 3 dressings will be sufficient. Capt Mede For the Gripes or Cholick in a Horse of oyl of turpentine 2 spoonfull. Yolke of one Egg, Rub these together very well; then add comon Treacle 4 spoonful [Diapente?] one ounce & half, mild ale one quart. Mix these well & give it Lukewarm. For a bruise Mrs Tryon 2 oun: of Camphire Dissolvd in half a pint of spirits of wine, put into a quart Bottle to be filled up wth Bullocks Gall. Mr Bultock for ye Mange 4 ounces of Ginger very finely powded & sifted, put into 4 ounces of Hogs Lard and boyld in it very slowly, & well [stird?] when boyling. To make sugar vinegar To a gallon of water put one pound & quarter of the coarsest sugar. Put it over the fire, stirring it till it boyls, taking the scum for it as fast as it rises. When boyld, put it into a Cooler, & when cold put into it toasted Bread wch hath been dipp'd in Balm, Let it continue 1 day, or 2 till it is coverd wth Balm or [skum?], then [turn?] it & place it in the sun, covering ye Bung hole wth a Tile; a large quantity will not be fit for use 'itll after 1 year or 2. For the Ague from Sr Charles Mordaunt Take half an ounce of Bark finely powdered: forty Grains of salt of Wormwood: thirty Grains of snakeroot powdered [illegible] mix all these well together: and divide it into four parts: ye person is to take a vomit ye day before ye fitt comes: and ye next day take one paper of ye powder: an hour after ye fitt is quite [off?], in a quarter of a pint of red wine: take anothe paper next morning in ye same manner and ye other two papers night & morning following you must repeat it in ye same manner at ye change or full of ye moon or ye it [aue?] will return
