Cut the crumb of a french roll (any light roll of sufficient size will do) into slices as thick as your finger into what shape you please, and soak them in some cream, nutmeg, sugar pounded cinnamon and an egg. When well soaked, fry them of a nice brown, and serve with a wine sauce. A Timball of Macaroni (Waulik) 2 ounces of macaroni stewed in veal broth; add what meat you wish, such as fowl rabbit or game - Butter a shape, strew in a little vermecelli - Line it with a good puff paste rolled very thin. Put in your meat and macaroni. Season and cover and bake one hour in a quick oven - Fig drink for the Sick. 4 good sized figs cut very fine - boil them well in half a pint of water for half an hour - with about three
