Lady Daseys receipt for young women A quarter of an ounce of liquorish, one ounce of annaseeds, half an ounce of carraway seeds, a quarter of an ounce of turmerick, a quarter of an ounce of flower of brimston, one dram of cream of tarter, half an ounce of sugar, a quarter of an ounce of steel, all these must be finely powderd and well mixt together then take as much as will lye upon a shilling every morning fasting mixt up with syrup of clove jelly flower and drink penny royal water, or tea after it
