Edgar Thomson of Phil) offered me an interest in a Coal Company in Penna which he deeming one of the most valuable in the whole state - yet in first hands - having a valuable perpetual Charter - improvements made - coal being brot to market - and all - with a paid up Capital without one dollar of debt, funded, floating or otherwise I gladly accepted, especially as the offer was only made to benefit me, & not himself. The concern is controlled by five trustees, Mr Thomson being one
