common line so determined shall be connected with both the M & M and the Cedar Rapids Roads, at some point between Marengo & the Missouri River, & that the business of said common line going to Chicago, or any point east of Chicago, both through & way business, shall be equally divided between the two Chicago routes from the junction or point of connection of the Chicago lines with the common line agreed upon as aforesaid, & if it shall so happen that either line between said junction and Chicago shall carry during any one month or year more than the other line of all of said business, that line shall pay to the other in manner as shall be arranged, one half of the profits of such excess, which profits shall be agreed upon, so that a specific percentage shall at all times be paid on 1/2 of such business, that one party carries more than the other. Second. The Tarrif of all business going to Chicago shall be determined in some way satisfactory to both parties, & shall when computed by miles, be fixed by the number of miles or length of road of the longest of the two roads from the
