Central Bolt, Spike & Rivet Proposals for Spike & Bolts May 27, 1868 Central Bolt, Spike and Rivet Manufacturing Co. No. 231 Broadway Room 4,5,&6 New York, May 27th 1868 Contractors Union Pacific Railroad 20 Nassau St New York Gentlemen I will make you the 261:600 Button head Bolts 3/4 & 3/4 with 1 1/2 & 3/4 Nut as per sample submitted at 6 1/4 cents per [lb?]. Also 2000 [Key?] Rail Road spikes 5 1/2 & 9/16 100 [lb?] Each, at 4 3/4 per [lb?]all delivered at our factory in [illegible] N. Y. Delivery to commence June 1st. and be completed, on or about, thirtieth of Augst next. Workmanship and Iron, to be eaqual to Sample, herewith submitted. Payment to be made in Cash, each month for the delivery of the month preceeding Yours Truly Hiram Emerson
