Adirondack Company's Railroad. Superintendent's Office, Saratoga Spring, Dec 15th 1870 (?) H. Dear Sir Dr. Durant directed me to send a statement -or "Estimate" as he called it-of the amount due Mr. W.P. Gauger. Late in the Engineering Department. I sometime since settled with Mr. G to July 1st and hold his vouchers for payments to that time. He thinks he should have pay to Sept. 15th or 2 1/2 months more, which seems to me to be proper, as he deducted, in settlement in March and April. His pay- (?)-has been $200-per month-making amt due him now $500. His address is "Hoosac Lannel" hosp. and you can if you see fit remit to him directly & I will see that the proper (?) are signed- Yours truly C.H. Ballard
