that in the absence of the Reports themselves I would not swear precisely what they contained, but I did not think there could be found any statement to the effect that the company had paid anything for Rolling Stock and at all events that my affidavit was understood to apply to only that part of the Report which I was personally responsible for "i.e." that which gave the details of the operating department of the Road. think you + the Doctor will be specially called upon to explain the apparent discrepancy between the affidavits served on the Sheriff last summer + the sworn Reports to the State, as well as asked who did [illegible] pay
