Monroe Mine Nov 30th 1854. Mr. T. C. Durant No. 7 south st. New York. Dear Brother, Enclosed I send you a Duplicate of Expenses of the Monroe Mine for the month of November 1854. and of which I have Bills and Reports up to Dec 1st 1854. I shall make the first Day of every month pay Day at the Monroe Mine. We are getting along as well as could be Expected this week in the shaft. I have been up at the Mine twice this week and shall go up again on Saturday. I have built a good office with the exception of the chimney and that will be built next week. The timber is all out for the Blacksmith shop and the shingles made, and are waiting for rain so as to get Lumber to board it up. The nights are very cold and the cabins are not yet fixed for winter, if I had the Lumber the [windlass?] Hands could soon fix them. I shall Arive [back?] as fast as I can. I read your letter of the 14th and was glad to to hear that you are all well. The same Day I read yours of the 18th with the Draft of $200. The Expenses of the Mine next month will be more than they were this: So look out in time for the funds,
