Union County [16 March 9th 185?] Dearest Brother, My engagement with you will be out the first of June and I would like to know by the middle of next month whether you want me to stay in North Carolina another year or not. If you [??] I would like to know so that I could make my arrangements and if not I would like to know by that time so that I can make other arrangements. I want to take my family back North by the last of June, that is if I can leave at that time, if not I must send some one with them for I shall not run the risk of keeping them here after this time. [??] [??] are will and join with in sending love to you all, are you coming [??] to North Carolina this spring Yours affectionately Mr To Durant
