Coburns [Sterohle?] Sept 12th/55 Dear Brothers I have just read a note from Mr. Jones and enclosed was a certificate of deposit for one thousand dollars. I will have but a moment to write while they are changing the mail. My health is good at this time, there is a great deal of sickness about how the most of my carpenters are well and have commenced work again but a great part of my surface hands and miners are still sick. I am putting up a [whinch?] on vein 13. The weather is very [warm?]. Mr. Jones said in his note that you would write me in a day or two, I hope you will do so, as soon as I read your letter I will answer it. I have not got the mile [?] from [Roan?] yet, I have let the contract to the [different?] men but sickness has provented them from going in [mine?] #120 to get the [?} here besides the loading of them. I must [close?] the mail is waiting. Mr. [F?] Durant Send me another draft of [?] by the first of Oct.
