Marion Mine Union County NC Nov 2"/55 T. C. Durant Esq No 3 South St New York City Dear Sir Enclosed I send yo a duplicate of expenses of the Marion Mine for the month of September. The expenses for the month of Oct will be light. For the last week there has been but very little aene(?) at the mine, two men working on vein 14 (very poor) aint worth Dam one man exploring 5 of the carpenters set in last Thursday, I put them all at the whim on vein 18 will have it completed in two or three days and shall then go ahead on the mill I shall let the building of the other Whiss(?) out on contract of I can, I shall buy horses, corn and hay this week if I can so as to be ready to work on vein 13 soon as possible I am looking for Capt Williams each day. I shall go north soon as I make pay day for Nov. I want you to send Mr. Traclor (?) Hundred Dollars // 1200 for Oct and November I do not know as I shall need spend all for paying the men but I must leave a stock of materials for them to work with while I am north. I hope you will be
