[Monroe Mine?] Jany 29 1856 Dear Brother, We are working on the big mine the runs in the [illegible] ends is about 2 1/2 feet into but I think it is getting some smaller about one foot in the center of the run is [illegible] is with about one dollar [illegible] but think not over 50 cents if that the mine in the north end looks better than the south end, they [illegible] a few feet on the south end but the [illegible] look from and is about 14 inches [illegible].
