Cobourn's Store [...] July the 28th 1875 Mr W F Durant, Esq. Dear sir I drop you a few lines this morning to let you know I am well and living at the same place (The Marion Mine) I have been ever since you left this country and have been running the place from Dawning's and paying the rest to them not knowing whether I am justified in so doing or not as it is said and perhaps rightly, too, that they do not own the property, but that your Brother Dr [J?] C Durant and yourself own it now if this is so, and I am inclined to believe it is, I have no right to rent from, or pay rent to, Downing's and would not be safe in doing so I want to know if I am right in so doing
