Cobourns Store N.C Union Co Sept the 1st/75 Mr W F or T C Durant (Esqrs) Dear Sir I wrote you some time ago concerning the Marion Mine and thus far have read no reply and conclude to write again for fear you did not get my letter I am living on the Marion Mine and have been ever since you left [...] working the place and have been reciting from and paying rent to Downing's and it is [...] they do not own at or any part of it and that I am not safe in renting from or paying rent to them. This I would like to know and desire to rent the place for farming purposes, only, from the propper owners who I understand to be yourselves the old man Downing is dead and his family the Wagers are renting to me as have been so far
