A It is not my business although I do it occasionaly I had considerable money loaned out at that time Q Where you at that time connected with Jerome in any business? A I was not - I never was. Q Where you not at that time connected with Jerome in Southern Michigan and Northern Indiana Railroad Stocks. A Mr Jerome never bought a share of stock for me on time, or sold a share that I can recollect of. I have had some cash transactions with him. The only connection I had with him was that I gave him 4000 Shares of the stock to sell and he sold it and gave me a check for it and afterwards bought 300 or 400 Shares of the same stock for me or which I paid him a commission. There were no [opporations?] between us at that time, on time Q Did Mr Jerome borrow money of you at the time you got the Draft and leave the Draft with you as collateral security. A When I first received the draft he borrowed some securities and left the Draft as Colateral with other securities It was merely for over night Q Did you return the draft to him A I am not positive I think he took it the next day He came back the next day or the day after to return the securities and give me the money for them. He sold them and rendered me an account and in part payment of those securities I discounted the Draft at his request having made enquiries about the parties and found them to be good Q Did you enquire of him at that time from whom he received the Draft and for what purpose he received it
