Quincy, Adams Co., Iowa May 28th, 1865 Dear Husband, I thought my last letter was not quite long enough so I would write soon again. - You have not wrote as some of the 29th has giveing my directions not to write again untill I heard from you. some of them think that a letter would start for home, but my opinion is that they could write several before the 29th will be home. I commenced writing to you one week ago this morning. I was a Queen City. It was the warmest day that we have had this spring untill to day. it is very warm to day. Grathes & Mother went to Harden's yesterday. Eddie went with them. Clara & I staid home to feed the calf & the chickens, she liked to talked me to death. This morning I went up to sabbath school, took the chilldren. it was preaching day, but the chilldren got so tired that we did not stay for preaching. I see Margaret Bixler there, she sayes that bill will not get out untill the reg. does. After preaching, they were all going down to Walters creek to see some dipping. Rey Lawrence, Liz & Louisa Mathew, Jonth Lawrence girl & Sam Moor's two girls. [Broby] is superintendant of the sabbath school. Lizzie has been down working for Clara for some time. Clara has been very poorly this spring. I believe they all think she has a misscarage. I never have said any thing to her about it except it is all so.
