wrote your letter that I see friday. Wills came over Fryday. the first time he has been to town since he came back, said they had a letter from Ellis, he was on his way home, he could not make any thing there, wages was two dol. per day & [sic] 12 dol. per week. Well, well, the widow Josephene Stickle was married last Thursday. Maper & wife Sutherland & lady Mrs. George Stickle came to Quincy where the soldiers & soldiers' widows were married. I think she must be a strange woman, she has one boy 6 years old & one little girl 2 years old. her husband has been dead 2 years & 7 months, she knows nothing about her husband; only what George Stickles knew about him in the army. I would not wonder if her first husband haunted her. I would if I were him. Bessides, I suppose will leave a wife where he goes back to dixy. I do not know what they will do. Jack Stewart's wife & Archye's wife are in Quincy taken likenesses. I made a misstake in dating the last letter. I think I said Saturday would be the 6th. well, it was a misstake, that's all. I suppose you are getting uneasy about your friend Mrs. Carpender, ain't you, John? I will not finish my letter untill after the 4th. Wednesday night, well, I will finish my letter, but if the news is true that I heard yesterday, you will not get this, as Jackson Queary see a letter from Harlow written the 29th of June saying
