on walk by the flowers I plucked a stem of sweet peas. & gave it him remarking, dont you think these fraigrant? "they are so". he pulled the one flower off & kept the other two I did not know what he did with them. on in the afternoon after ten I asked him if he could play on the [Mels?] - he said not, but we all whent in the room I played a little then he tryed to play some but his legs where two long for to reach under he left asked about Jan. & June. he said it was very good book. I set on the bed he arose I sit opposite me on the right & mentioned that I recd the book it was a very good book that Jan was his month & June the [?] was showing him my album when Mrs Ellis came in to look at the Mels she whent off & out soon she was suprised to see us a talking we spoke on various subjects & in going out he left his flowers with me my flowers. these are the ones you gave me are they not yes. stayed till Tuesday morning after supper I whent out to feed the ducks was in the garden trying to get the large ones out when I came in the path ahead of me. asked if I fed them [?] is only the last in the drakes
