he asked if it was not pretty expensive feed. he turned about & walked along the flower bed talked about this & that one. then he turned around the Helianthis came long pluced a five a clock has it a deep color? [very?] etc etc whe rode over to the [?] with [Milton?] on [bully?] Tuesday 24 Aug. 1869. Came here to day about twelve a clock. taken dinner along. after dinner they brought out Bully but he did not take her off for one reason, I heard the dogs back whent out to the front gate & there he was a coming in I had my old shoes on & my sleeves rolled up that I was some what [nunplused?] shook hands. &c came in asked after the health of [?] M. Mother was very feeble she could not talk aloud as much - after dinner M. whent in the garden. we talked on various subjects. about the Helianthis the Eclipse the fourth & the preacher. or the Bible new translation &c M. called whent out. came in got a bucket said I better bring a bucket of water before it rains (for there was coming a heavy rain as it looked) he said let me bring. said I was so [?] on the road. O no matter. said you dont know the spring
