Mr. Miller gave out that Brother H would preach at three OClock. Fr. looked over toward the croner to see what affect it would have on her all was passive. Last Friday the 8th [illegible] & Rev Miller came past here. seen Wat the barn. told him that he wanted to see Mr. Cooper he would come this eve to see us about three oclock they came in put their horses away. came in said they had a plan to visit around today but the rain drove us in there & [illegible] got talking about C.S. Miller said if he would have him along the [illegible] past would not have [illegible] give them any thing for the chrch. Miller said that will not do. Got the boys to pay 25 apiece for the church at Perry. Talked til after twelve oclock. Miller showed me the old class book how the mice ate the corners off. bought a new book for the class book. he is or seams like a nice man nothing like Bat all he could not appreciate any thing higher or much higer then tobacco M appears open hearted & cinsere. they did not get so very much from the Grove people I hear they called on Mrs Mills asked her nice no she said I work for my living be - if I do give any thing. Satteray 9th came "Sallie" with her [illegible] troops in the morning early the children all look bright and healthy the Maud look me & a fine girl smart and active so is Ellen very nimble
