Sept. 14. Today has been quite cold & rainy drizzling quite fast sometimes. this eve it does not rain but look cloudy. hope we will not have any rain more. O Dear [?] [illegible] I thank you that Father's health is better O I hope you will spare him long yet it inneligible thy will. O God help him give him that sweet peace of mind. & O go with him through life & give him a peaceful end on thy breast may he breath [sic] his life out sweetly there. O my brothers O God stop them help them to see the [illegible] path they are persueing [sic] & lead them in the straight path that leads to thee. & has a pretty high temper hope she will find that power that solves all thoes things sam is like the old [illegible] all in all Sallie looks just a young as when she left only a little things not much though got her things all fixed up. Salterday Evening Saturday Yody this evening there was a knock at the door when I opened the door there was quite a Gentleman at the enterance [sic]. [illegible] in the [hives?] came in the house I seen the bible & got Griggin is my name. O yes I reached out my hand as did Father asked Mother to stay all night. Well I tell you & G my daughter has come home & I am afraid I cant keep you
