Tonight yes I said I [illegible] can. that you I know Ellen would not let me go off so late in the nig[ht] K preached this afternoon at thrice tine a splendid sermon spoke some to me after preaching said he seen [Lesley?] & that she has more [ernest?] then you O yes she always had. you look [pait?] 6 M dint make ay difference to me if I have ay [illegible] or no. "no not if your well," gave him an [illegible] of to the Mrs Mathis. Oct 24th 1869. Today Mr K preached at Lincoln this afternoon at thrice [Belverlo?]. his less was 42 isalm 1 verse he done a very gooy sermon, he is a young man yet & [illegible] look at his congregation yet he will after he gets better acquainted in the pulpit. I felt sometimes when he was a preaching that he was speaking so natural & so feelingly that he must feel & what sorrow was after the [sermon?] was over he came around & I handed him my hand we talked some after the meeting below & if he heard from them told him that I would not ask him if his health was good as no for his appearance so for him why I feelt slited, "not at all not that I dont care. but you are looking so well that I dont think
