oftimes sow in tears, yet through patience & faith we are permitted to reap in joy. As regards an Iowa peace society I have unity. All associations of men & women are but means to ends, and if we keep that in view there can no harm result from socities whether they may be moral, social, or Religious in their views. But the harm comes from considering any association of men as divinely appointed - and hence they cease to be a means of progress & improvement. We surely are justified in using all innocent methods - in arresting the progress of wrong and oppression are very Guilty "concerning our brother" unless we are faithful in the discharge of our duties as they are made manifest
