A Receipt for an Eye Water Mrs Bateman Take an Egg, roast it hard in Wood Embers, then take all the shell and white and mince it very small and put to it half a pint of real Rose Water and half a pint of white wine, and as much powder of Tatty as you can heap upon a shilling and the same quantity of Lapis Caliminaries both in very fine powder and let it simmer in silver close cover’d in the fire till half is wasted then strain it through a fine cloth and keep it for use, shake the Bottle every day or else it will be apt to Mother shake it also before you use it to your eyes. – This has been experienced. To Make an Egg Pudding - Mrs Bateman Take 16 Eggs and beat them very well, then put in half a pound of Butter well [nought?] beat em all together then put in half a pond of powder sugar, a glass of sack 2 spoon fulls of Rose Water, and a little Lemon peel, beat all together very well, then thicken it over the fire, then Bake it with a thin paste in the bottom of the dish, and over it, as soon as it is enough take it out of the oven - To make White Catchup - To a pint of white wine Lamage of a kan on Sunday [illegible] 1832 december 2nd - from Work changes 2 delivered to the Middleham [Coast?] on Thursday the 7th of december
