MackRoons - Mrs Sturdy 1 pd of Sugar Pounded very fine 2 ounces of Bitter almonds, 2 ounces of sweet almonds pounded, 2 whites of Egg made very stiff then set the sugar and almonds with the Eggs, and put them in little peices on writing paper, Bake them in a very slow oven and on Boards instead of tins. For Salve - Mrs Powlett One pd of olive oil, Two ounces of Bees wax, two ounces of white Rosin, half an ounce of Venice Turpentine, two ounces of Frankencense, four ounces of Red lead Boil the oil then put in the Red lead & soon after the other ingredients let them be constantly stirred on the fire untill the whole becomes a brown colour when it may be put into an Earthen vessel for use if olive cannot be had an equal quantity Hog's lard may be substituted, the Salve when put on the sore to be covered with a poultice.
