Half a pound of Ivory powder, to be put into a saucepan or glazed pitcher with a cover to it containing three pints of water, to simmer when first put on the fire, for about 3 hours & then let it boil till reduced to a pint and half, then strain it through a sieve or muslin, it will form a strong jelly.
