To Make Ginger bread - J - Walker Three pd of Treacle, 3 lb of flour 14 oz of fresh Butter - 14 oz of candid lemon - 1 oz of ground ginger 1 oz 1/2 of caraway seeds, 1 oz 1/2 of pearl ashes - Rub the butter very fine into the flour mix the spices - afterwards the Treacle wash out your dish with a little warmwater in which disolve the Pearl ashes, mix all well together and bake it in any shape you please NB. mix the gingerbread the night before you bake it French pancakes 2 whites of Eggs beat to a strong froth 3 table spoonsfull of flour, 1 tablespoonfull of sifted sugar 2 glass of white wine 1 cup full of cream - A pudding in haste Boil a stick of cinnamon in a gill of milk and it upon 4 Eggs previously beaten, sugar to your taste, put all together into a mould with a little butter rubbed in it and let it boil in the steamer for a bout ten minnets - White Plumb Cake - 20 oz of flour, 20 oz of Butter, 12 oz of powdered sugar 9 whole Eggs, 1 1/2 lbs of currants, 1/2 lb of Raisins, 6 oz candied lemon, one nutmeg, one glass of Brandy - 2 hours will Bake it - French Pancakes - Take 2 spoonfuls of flour a little salt 3 Eggs a pint of new milk a spoonful of orange flour water, 1 oz of Ratifies Cakes, mix all together & put them through a sieve, put a little Butter into a pan fry them a light Brown
