Stewed Cucumber, Mrs Hodgron Slice them thick & strew some salt, pepper and sliced onion add a little broth simmer very slowly and before moving thicken with a little flower & butter To make waters Mix into orange flower water & grated lemon 3 Spoonfuls of flower & three of pounded sugar melt 2 ounces of Butter in 1 Jill of Water & thin the paste with it - Mix it - mix it well heat the Irons very equally - rub them over slightly with a Buttered cloth - put in a spoonful of paste - close the Irons equally - equally - when of a fine colour, roll it upon & roller & hold it till it take the form - continue to make them, putting them into a Seive, & dry them in a stove - Cream waters make them of cream - instead of water that is all the difference they may be rolled smaller, & colloured with Cochineal - Wine wafers - Make the paste of a proper thickness with wine, sugar, & Eggs, & the finest Flour & finished as before direction when they are coloured a delicet pink, & the cream ones kept as white as possible, by making them of white of Eggs & lemon juice, they make a beautiful dish mixeded Cough Medicine - 2 Table spoonfull of Spermaciti finely powdered 2 Do - Do of droped Honey 1 Do - Do - of Paregonic mixed with 1 pint of Mint Water, 1 Tablespoonfull taken 3 times a day -
