Arrowroot Pudding very good Mix a desert spoonful of the powder in two of cold milk pour upon it a pint of boiling Milk, in which have been dissolved 4 oz of butter & 2 of sugar stirring it all the time. Add a little nutmeg & 5 Eggs Bake it 1/2 an hour in a dish lined with paste - Preserved put laid at the bottom is a good addition. If the Pudding is to look clear substitute water for milk - Ecelsfield 1845 Black Current Logenses - Mrs J - Chaytn Put the Black currants into a Jar tie it down and put it into the oven - leave it till the juice has run from the fruit, drain off the juice, then rub the fruit through a sieve and add what is produced to the juice Add Lump sugar (1/4 lb to 1 lb of juice) & let it simmer over a gently fire for a considerable time till it becomes very thick. Pour it into plates & put them before the fire till the juice becomes stiff enough to be cut into slices keep it in a cool dry place for use. A little bit disolved in the mouth is very good for the beginning of a sore throat - Melt a little in boiling water to make Black currant tea -
