To dye Yellow Half a bushele of horse raddish leaves boiled in six or eight quarts of water for half an hour - then strain off the water from the leaves, and put in a large knob (or piece) of alum -- the muslin or calico must be boiled in it, for a few minutes & remain in the water until it is cold - It should be hung up as soon as it is taken out of the water
