Recipe for Gout Tincture 2 oz of dried orange peel, 4 do of best rhubarb 2 Do of [contraywon?] root alone, 2 drachms of elder ledoang root, put the orange peel into a quart of good brandy, let it steep 3 or 4 days then add the other ingredients pounded to powder or very well bruised - let it remain ten days before a fire in a stone jar & be well shaken three or four times a day - after this filter it off, and it will be ready for use - 2 tea spoonsfull to be taken when the stomach or head is affected with gout
