Iced Coffee Lady F 1876 Make a pint of good strong coffee when cold add 1/2 pint of cream & milk mixed. Sugar to taste mix & put thro' a sieve. Pour into freezing pot ( in pail with salt) & shortly it will get to sides of pot. scrape it down & mix with liquid but let it [again?] & repeat scraping [illegible] till the whole is just thick enough to pour. The freezing must not be turned as in making Ice. [crupâte?] of chestnuts Lady F. 1876 take 30 or 40 chestnuts & blanch them as you do almonds. Cut them in pieces & boil them in their syrup till soft enough to rub thro' a wire or coarse hair sieve. Spread them on a dish to dry- but not get hard. Put a large layer of chestnuts at the bottom of a dish & cover with whipper cream till you
