Plain Gingerbread Mrs. [Shullterworth?] 1876 1 lb flour 1 lb treacle 2 eggs 1 teaspoonful carbonate of soda dissolved in a little good milk about 2 teaspoonful of ground ginger- bake in a slow oven The gingerbread to be cut into square pieces glazed over Pork Pie Crust 1 lb flour 4 oz lard & a little salt melt the lard in a little hot water & make into a stiff paste Cut the meat up very fine & season to taste boil the feet & bones down to make gravy & pour in between the crust & meat.
