Devilled Livers Take good Livers of Chicken - Turkey or Goose, cut them into halves & fry in Butter. When ready fried add a Tablespoonful of Gravy of [illegible] Sauce & [illegible][illegible] then let the Livers boil [illegible] till they are quite dry - serve very hot on pieces of Goose or fried bread Cranford July 25th Raspbery Cake Cricket [illegible] [Day] 5th/81 Take about 1 lb of pretty quartered Raspberries mice with a spoon and put alittle powdered sugar Cut small thin slices of [illegible] or sponge cake put into a small stewpan or any mould & put plenty of the crumb and minced bits of the Cake. Alternate layers. Set on ice until it is required for use and cover it with Whipped Cream after it is turned out of the mold. Strawberries or any fruit can be added.
