same of Cafnia buds and of Geranium leaves and spread them in the shade to dry for 3 days after which mix them with the Rose Leaves. Then mix 2 oz Iris Root ([illegible] Powder/[illegible] powder, 1 oz benjoin, 1/2 oz Ambergris and a few Cloves all powdered finely with a lb of Rock Salt and put the leaves into a large deep China Jar. Throwing them into it in thin layers and sprinkling a handful of the powdered mixture between each layer. Keep the Jar covered. If the flowers be gathered in wet weather, the potpourri will become mushy and if they are dried in the sun they will lose their perfume. A handful of new flowers may be added at any time to the above mixture, by drying them in the shade for 2 days and then throwing them into the base stirring all well up together without any more Mixture.
